Taking care of your body

Updated: May 27

Playing professional hockey put the importance of taking care of your body at the top of my list. You were judged, measured, and paid on performance, PERIOD. It was what you did on a daily basis to get to prepare for the next practice, the next game, or the next challenge set in front of you. If you weren't prepared, your chances of winning would greatly drop. The food you put into your body was the fuel you needed to succeed and maintain a high level of performance. The work you put into your on and off ice workouts was the difference between good and great. The mental preparation you did that day, that month or the year before would impact the result between a win and a loss. The way you took care of your entire body was the way you became ELITE or if you didn't then you'd just blend in - if you were lucky enough to survive. In order to take your game and your life to the next level it's important to know how to do it. What works and what doesn't. It's not a one size fits all approach. It takes time, patience, work ethic, dedication, perseverance, and a plan to get to that level.
